I’m Cerian, a Wellbeing Practitioner, yoga therapist, yoga teacher, and specialist tutor. My work is shaped by over fifteen years in education, a long personal journey with mental health, and the lived reality of being a woman carrying multiple roles. Everything I offer is gentle, accessible, and grounded in the belief that yoga should feel supportive, not stressful or performative.

This is how I got here.
Growing up and finding my way
I grew up in a family where education, creativity, and care were woven into everyday life. I didn’t come to yoga through a dramatic moment. I came to it as a student in 2000, looking for an intensive movement activity. What I found was something I didn’t yet have words for and hadn’t found in other forms of exercise: mental steadiness.
I didn’t know then how important that steadiness would become.
Almost twenty years in education
I became a teacher and spent nearly two decades working in mainstream classrooms, specialist provisions, and non‑school settings. I’ve been through Ofsted inspections, workload spikes, safeguarding crises, pastoral responsibilities, and the emotional labour that comes with supporting young people day after day.
I’ve taught teens who were anxious, overwhelmed, burnt out, masking, shutting down, or simply trying to survive school. I’ve worked with families carrying multiple loads — paid work, unpaid care, domestic management, emotional support — often all at once.
I’ve also lived that reality myself: from being a distressed teen and learning unhealthy coping mechanisms, through parenting, teaching, caring, managing a home, and trying to hold my own mental wellbeing together. I’ve been overwhelmed. I’ve been burnt out. And slowly, gently, through practice, therapy, and time, I’ve rebuilt.
This lived experience is foundational to everything I offer.
The turning point
After a period of significant mental-health difficulty, yoga became more than a practice. It became a lifeline. Regular practice helped me come back to myself, and it showed me that regulation isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.
In 2019, I completed my first yoga teacher training, which opened a door I didn’t know I needed. I went on to teach and study for over 2000 hours, and eventually completed the 600-hour Professional Diploma in Yoga Therapy with The Minded Institute.
Yoga therapy gave me the language, the science, and the tools to support people living with stress, pain, fatigue, anxiety, trauma, and burnout, the very things I had lived through myself.
Becoming a Wellbeing Practitioner
I now work as a Wellbeing Practitioner in a mainstream secondary school, offering yoga-therapy-informed regulation support to young people. The role brings together everything I’ve learned:
- almost twenty years of teaching
- specialist tutoring
- yoga therapy
- trauma-informed practice
- ND-affirming approaches
- lived experience of burnout, overwhelm, and rebuilding
It’s the work I wish had been available to me when I was a young teacher, a young mother, and a young woman trying to hold everything together.
My work today
- Classes: calm, accessible yoga in Slimbridge and Frampton on Severn
- Practise Anytime: audio and video practices and a short course for overwhelm, for your own time
- 1:1 yoga therapy for adults and teens
- Embodied Journeys: held, reflective support for women in transition, one-to-one or in a small circle
- Philosophy Club and monthly circles
- For Parents and Schools: the Exam Calm Course, Student Wellbeing Yoga, and Staff Wellbeing Yoga
My work is slow, steady, and invitational. It’s shaped by nervous-system literacy, trauma-informed practice, and the understanding that people need support that meets them where they are, not where they “should” be.
Women in transition
I work closely with women navigating midlife shifts, identity changes, burnout, caring responsibilities, relationship transitions, and the emotional load of juggling multiple roles. My sessions offer grounding, breathwork, gentle movement, and space to soften the load.
These practices aren’t about striving or becoming someone new. They’re about returning to yourself.
Life now
I live on a boat with my husband, my daughter, and our two dogs. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me reading, drawing, practising yoga, or exploring Scotland and Europe, especially beaches for wild swimming.
