Floating Lotus is not quite a one-woman operation. There are a lot of awesome people supporting me 🙂

Cerian Smith
Yoga Teacher
After an exercise history including swimming, surfing, jiu-jitsu, rock-climbing and belly-dancing, I came to yoga in 2013 and found that yoga had a lasting, positive effect on my mood, but I didn’t always prioritise my practice. I basically became a yoga teacher in order to have an excuse to always put my own practice first! Sometimes I felt that I should stay at home and clean, or save money and go running instead (I don’t like running). After an episode of depression which led me to quit my teaching job, I realised this had to change, so I increased my practice and applied for a place on Bristol School of Yoga‘s Ashtanga & Yin teacher training course, led by Melanie Cooper. I qualified in October 2019. Now my practice informs and improves my teaching, so no more excuses exist!
I live on a boat with the Gorgeous Tree Surgeon, my daughter and our dogs. Apart from yoga I like coffee, reading, and seeing friends.
